Stephenville bull rider goes 3 for 3 to win $27,000 in Hobbs

Capturing his first Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding title Braidy Randolph of Stephenville, Texas battled fellow Texan Hudson Bolton of Milan on a chilly Saturday night at the Lea County Events Center in Hobbs, New Mexico. Randolph edged out Bolton by half a point as the two young riders finished with for 3 for 3 perfect night. But in the end its the Shoot Out round highest score of 91.5 that earned Randolph the title of Tuff Hedeman Hobbs 2024 Champion.  

4-time World Champion Tuff Hedeman had this to say about the Texas cowboy who had a perfect night at his Hobbs event.

“The competition was a nail biter with 19 qualified rides and several within striking distance of the 8 second whistle as the leader board changed with each round. The three round format is tough both mentally and physically and three bulls back to back is challenging and tiring, you have to be in shape and stay strong and focused and Randolph was the best bull rider tonight, thrilling the fans and keeping them entertained throughout the night.”

Bringing the fans to their feet in the final Shoot Out round, Randolf earned the championship title with a 91.5 ride score aboard to pick up the $26,137.50 check that accompanied the title of his first Hobbs Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding.

The bull riders were on their game  with 14 qualified rides in round one ending in Hagen Braswell and NFR veteran Tyler Bingham splitting the  lead with 89.5 points aboard Flying Crazy from bucking bull partners 5S Bulls and Silo Pros. Bingham earned his points on -85 Chan Man from Rawson Bucking Bulls. Randolph posed his ride score of 88 on 781 Chigger of Mason Bucking Bulls.

NF perennial rider Tyler BinghaVeteran NFR Rider Tyler Bingham wins round one.m splits round one with an 89.5 ride on Rawson’s Chan Man.

Randolph fought back to take the lead winning the Semifinal round which pitted  the top 10 qualified rides from round one. Top Score from Randolph with an 88 followed by Hudson Bolton and Hayes Weight with and 87 and 85 respectively.. The four average scores  move to the winner take all Shoot Out Round referred to as the final four.

With three qualified rides on two bulls the top 4 average scores would advance to the Shoot Out round and one rider on two scores.

With Tuff Hedeman assisting the cowboys select their Shoot Out bulls the round was set.

Randolf had first choice and selected his bull with Hedeman’s help. His great choice earned him a 91.5 ride to edge out Hudson Bolton who was 91 points. In Tuff Hedeman’s event format, the highest qualified ride score in the final four shoot out round is all that is needed to win the event. With the bull bucking into his hand, Randolph’s prediction of the bull fitting him was obvious from the gate pull as he did more than just ride. Randolph thrilled the crowd with his 91.5 ride to win his first Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding buckle.
