Hedeman taps top-ranked riders to compete this weekend in El Paso

National Finals Rodeo qualifier and Round 9 winner, Braden Richardson of Jasper, Texas will ride in El Paso

Each year in February Tuff Hedeman, assembles a roster of who's who in the bull riding world and heads to El Paso to produce one of the most prestigious and legendary titles a cowboy can earn, the Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding. Top-ranked bull riders and bulls will compete for the lion's share of $30,000 in prize money for one night on four-time World Champion and Pro Rodeo Hall of Famer Hedeman's top-notch roster.

The exciting two-hour Tuff Hedeman bull riding is returning to the El Paso County Coliseum on February 5th. The competition will start at 8 p.m. From having world-class bulls matched up with superstar riders, to upbeat music and enthusiastic fans and a few show surprises here and there, there is something for everyone.

"The county coliseum is coming home for me and I am so overwhelmed each year with the warm welcome and friendly faces I get to see around town and at the event. It's amazing the partnerships we have here that allow us to entertain the fans and show them a good time year in and out in such a tough world right now," said Hedeman who grew up in El Paso.

Hedeman announced several pedigreed bull riders have accepted his invitation to compete and are headed to the 17th Annual Casa Ford Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding.

"This year's crop of rider talent is solid and with the El Paso fan's over-the-top enthusiasm that is always in the Coliseum - they will no doubt be hanging on until the buzzer to get a shot at the title and prize money and appreciation from the fans," said Hedeman.

For over three decades Hedeman's legendary mentoring and leadership has bull riders following him onto the dirt as he provides the opportunity to win money while competing on great livestock.

Hedeman announced the addition of National Finals Rodeo qualifiers and PBR Riders, Braden Richardson, and Riker Carter to the roster of 24 bull riders that includes returning El Paso Champion in 2021, Demetrius "Ouncie" Mitchell. In addition, PBR and PRCA competitor Marco Juarez, New Mexico, will be competing as well as making appearances on Thursday at Casa Ford.

Bull Rider Riker Carter heads to El Paso from Stone, Idaho

Hedeman's three-round sudden death style bull riding is on the radar of most bull riders and the high energy and exciting competition will not disappoint the fans. Known as the bull riding blow-out of El Paso, it has not disappointed the faithful fans of El Paso for 17 consecutive years.

Returning champion Demetrius "Ounzie" Mitchell debuted and won his first Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding with a perfect 3 for 3 night in 2021. Competing against Mitchell for the 2022 title will be 26-year-old Braden Richardson, Jasper, Texas, the round 9 winner of the 2021 NFR in Las Vegas. Richard is a returning Tuff Hedeman Bull Riding Champion having won multiple THT tour events.

Hedeman also announced Riker Carter, Stone Idaho, who won the Rapid City PRCA Extreme Bulls last week. The 29-year-old bull rider has been riding professionally since 2010. Carter won the National High School Finals Rodeo bull riding in 2008 and qualified for the National College Finals Rodeo in 2013.
